Walk the Ironlands
alone.

Markbound is the field journal for solo Ironsworn play. Open a Free Adventure and let the oracles, the dice and an AI narrator carry the saga wherever you take it — your sheet, your journal, your story, all in one place.

Early access · Free tier: 1 character · oracles + dice forever

Two turns, no account

Take a turn. The dice are real.

This is the actual play screen in miniature, running the same dice engine as a live saga. Nothing here is scripted to succeed — roll badly and you'll feel it on the track.

The sheet updates itself from the roll — you never bookkeep.

Journal

The Havens are three days behind you. Rain has been falling since the pass, and the track you were following gave out an hour ago against a wall of black spruce. Somewhere ahead, past the treeline, a bell is ringing — slow, uneven, the way a bell rings when nobody is pulling the rope on purpose.

The sound comes from a steading you were told had been empty for two winters. Smoke, thin and grey, threads up through the rain. You can go in past the gate like a guest, or you can go around and see what the gate is hiding.

Rolls use the same engine as real play

Living Codex

Empty. Make a move — anything the story names gets written here, and stays there for the rest of the saga.

The Narrator can't contradict the Codex. That's why it doesn't forget.

Want to see where it goes? Read a full nine-turn saga with every roll printed.

Oracles, instant

Every Ironsworn oracle at your fingertips. Tap, roll — the answer drops straight into your journal, timestamped and sourced.

A sheet that updates itself

Momentum, tracks, conditions, vows — every roll and every choice writes back to the sheet. No bookkeeping.

Your saga, preserved

Narration, dice and scene transitions stitched into one chronicle. Export as Markdown or a bound PDF.

The edge

Engineered, not prompted.

Anyone can slap a system prompt on the strongest LLM. Markbound is a TTRPG engine the narrator runs inside — dice in code, memory in the database, canon sealed before play begins. The price covers that engineering, not just the API call.

Honest dice

Rolled in code with crypto-grade randomness, in your browser. The narrator describes the outcome the dice already produced — it never decides one.

Living Codex

Every NPC, item, location and threat is tracked in a structured ledger across every turn. The narrator can't forget who died last session.

Bible-as-canon

Your saga's setting, NPCs and vows are sealed before play. If the player names something that isn't canon, the narrator redirects — it can't quietly invent a sister you never had.

Length-validated

Zero NPC or setting contradictions across 137 turns of independently judged play. Personality drift cut vs the prior baseline.

Plain talk

Why not just use ChatGPT?

You can. We did, for a long time. Then we built this.

Markbound rolls dice in code, in your browser, with crypto-grade randomness. The model never decides outcomes — it only narrates the ones the dice already produced.

The dice are honest. The story is yours.

Pricing.

Start free. Paid tiers are sized to cover the AI bill your turns generate — a thin margin on lighter narrator models, close to break-even on the stronger ones. That's the whole pricing logic. No VC, no upsells. Cancel anytime.
